I’m thrilled to announce that PC Building Simulator has been picked up by the indiegame publisher The Irregular Corporation! Thank you to everyone who played the alpha on Itch.io, wrote articles, made Let’s Plays and spread the word. This wouldn’t have been possible without your amazing support!
There will be more news appearing here in the coming months and please do keep requests for features and bug reports coming in! We’re still working on the on-going development plan for PC Building Simulator so it’ll be great to get an idea of what you’d like to see.
Thank you for all your support!
The day has finally come, I have released the pre-alpha build of PC Building Simulator.
I know some of the components don’t make sense as choices today but I have mainly focused on getting everything to work and better and more numerous 3D models will come in the future.
Feel free to leave here any suggestions you may have, things you’d like to see in the game in the future and any bugs you encounter. I will use these to improve future versions of the game and hopefully I will, at some point in the future, have a full game for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you for all your support.
Hey everyone! Long time with no updates. Today there’s not going to be a video attached because I have mostly been working on sorting bugs and optimizing code.
I am currently discussing with companies the use of their parts in my game so there won’t be any legal problems in the future, that’s why I haven’t released it yet. The demo will come out probably in a week or so, no longer than that, I hope.
The demo will be a tutorial on how to build a PC from scratch which I’m hoping will convince people it’s not as hard as it may seem and encourage them to start doing in on their own.
Thank you for all of your support and I really hope the product will rise to your expectations.
Today I bring you a new cabling system, more in theme with the current game difficulty. By that I mean that the system is again based on knowing what to do and what goes where, instead of it being hard to use because it’s so finicky.
As I said before, this brings me one step closer to the demo I will be releasing in early March, so look forward to that.
Hey everyone! Just a quick update on the current progress of the game.
I’m currently on cabling. It’s going to be static, at the moment, you won’t be able to freehand it until I think of a better system for handling this. It will be in trend with the type of difficulty the game has, meaning you will need to know which cable goes where in order to install them.
This brings me one step close to finishing the demo I want to release pretty soon. Here are some pictures of how the cables look at the moment, really basic but they do their job pretty good.
At the moment, only the power cables are connected as other connector are in the works. Look forward to a video once the whole system is in place.
Hey guys! I haven’t posted anything in a long time and I just wanted to get you up to speed with the stuff I have been doing in this time. It was mostly spent doing real life stuff that got in the way but I had the chance to work on the game a bit, so it’s not all lost!
I had some problems when my computer restarted while I was working and I had to re-setup the project because it got corrupted, but everything is back to normal.
Apart from fixing some bugs and some code left-overs, I have been experimenting with some color effects. I’ll link some photos here and you guys decide which one you think it’s better.
Overdue update, should have uploaded it yesterday morning but I had some computer trouble. So for this update, I have created the main menu, a simple HUD, the in-game menu and the options menu. I’ll probably have to tweak them around but this will do for the moment. I have also made a new logo and tweaked the inventory so you won’t have to select the part each time if you have more of the same kind.
Hello once again! Today I bring you another video showing the progress I made with the game.
The changes are:
-added standoff slots and standoffs, screws to follow.
-added working pins to RAM slots and 5.25” bays.
-added fans that work, with accurate RPM.
-added the clipboard with the current job, if you’re in the career mode. Started working on HUD and menu. Ideas welcome!
-added a lot of new, accurate models(2 types of Intel Stock Cooler, Seasonic PSU, RAM, RAM slots, fans).
Hey everyone! Long time without an update. Here you can see all the things I’ve been working on: adding some better models, making the shop looking better and some animations. There is still a lot to be done but work is being restarted so look forward for more!
Hello everyone! Here you can see the current state of the game:
I haven’t been able to work on it for a pretty long time but now I’m back at it and I’m going to have a lot of spare time so hopefully I can do some of the things that I want.
At the moment I’m working on redesigning the work space in the game and try to add some of the more accurate 3D models I have found. Look forward for an update!
